Sadly, I don't go to the flicks these days (apart from a free showing of Kung Fu Panda the other night), as our local cinema want £7 for an adult ticket.....I just wait for the DVD these days.
Still looking forward to seeing the film at some point though!

In the Sunday Telegraph they said the beautiful Church of Agios Ioannis also a few scenes were shot on the Greek Mainland and on neighbouring Skiathos it is mainly Skopelos that dominates. The first one is the piece that was in the Sunday Telegraph.

I've just got back from the first night of Mama Mia - what a great feel good factor. I worried I wouldn't enjoy it as much as the stage version but there was beautiful scenery, lively music and some really funny moments. All around we could hear people saying they would go and see it again and, just one hint, don't leave before all the credits have gone on screen as there is a surprise ending.

Hi all, saw the film tonight and it HAS to be the "feelgood film" of the summer!! I'd say everyone in it gave great performances (although the men were really on the sidelines), but Meryl Streep was AMAZING!! I had no idea she was such a good singer and even in this film she brought tears to my eyes twice! Danced and sang all the way home from the bus stop!! As far as I know almost all the scenes were shot on Skopelos, and the scenery was amazing! It's also bound to help the Greek tourist industry - remember Shirley Valentine and Captain Corelli's Mandolin! 40+ years later Austria/Salzburg is still benefiting from The Sound Of Music. Then again the Salzburg is still (rightly) celebrating the life of a classical composer (Mozart).
