Dave, I don't know whereabouts your staying in Barbati but if you drive up the hill/entrance as if going to Pantokrator Hotel then turn lefthalfway up past the Supermarket there is a good road which winds right up through the woods bringing you out just below Spartilas. The locals use it to avoid traffic on the main road. It's a little narrow in places but that applies to most of Corfu.

Steve,

Right by the Pantokrator Hotel! So that's a very useful tip. Thanks.

Be very careful as you park up at old perithan...To be on the safe side park near the bell tower and walk down...The concrete road that ends as a very Nasty drop off to one side and the possibility of grounding the car....That is as you are comeing to the first tavern that is on the left of you...Chris

Hi Chris

Just e.mailed your pics of old peritha to my daughter and son in law, they watched Rick Stein's program Thursday night and every day since. The last time they were up there was 3 years ago and they visited the restaurant filmed, my 2 grandsons have a photo sitting on the very same bench that Rick & Thomas sat at, they are going back to Corfu in 2008 with us and we can't wait to visit Peritha again.

We were really looking forward to watching the corfu program, remembered it was on at the last minute, quickly set the DVD to record it but of course something went wrong and we didn't get the right program!

Does anyone know if they are repeating it?  I have tried the BBC website but couldn't find any info on there.
