I do not fly from Birmingham but find it a bit disturbing

It is like we have learned nothing or they are definitely employing the wrong people

What do you think?

I would love to work at my local airport

I would be so diligent,not like those tonight.

I do think they should pay more to get more commitment perhaps.But that was no excuse.

They do need to go watch them in the US it is quite scary but they have a job to do.....and in my opinion they do it good now.

heard about it and dont want any negative thoughts in head before

we fly out next week

hate flying and hate progs like that

I know they have to be broadcast and highlight bad practices

but do not need to watch !!

In my job all I hear is British brill foreign useless, from customers not colleagues. Why on these progs is it always white caucasians pinpointed? Just a though. Controversial I know but think about it. True but why are we so complacent?

My sister had called me to watch it. Then my neighbour called round during the conversation we both stop talking and began to watch it.
. Thank God! This was exposed now and not when something major happened; for me, for one� would not have believed it.

Suspend them!!!!!! I would Jail the lot!!!!! And let me tell you this that goes all the way up for this to have continued and become so bad�I didn�t see the entire programme but what I did see render us speechless �..as you have said above and quite rightly so �.. In this day and age�

I watched this programme very closely .. I am flying from Bham later in the year .. In fact i use bham airport a lot !!

my mouth dropped open at it ...what on earth is going on?? Now , shout me down if you like i don,t mind .. But most of the people in the programme were (( of a certain persuasion)) !! this makes it all the more disturbing ..you would think with everything that has happened with regards to terrorism people would be checked very thoroughly when applying for a job at the airport.. The man that was saying about all his convictions !! he seemed proud of the fact as well ....

And what about the drugs !! I noticed the programme makers made a point of naming these two ..

As for the people checking the bags on the XRay machine ..very very disturbing ..

In fact i am e mailing the airport today and asking them can they assure my safety when i fly out later this year ?? Also , what have they done with regard to these serious breaches of security .. it is frightening to know about this ..

Will let you know what they say (( if they reply)) ..

I too watched last night and was totally gobsmacked - how could they suspend these people - they should have been removed from the job immediately. Luckily I use Norwich Airport and hopefully being smaller they are not experiencing the same problems.

When you think of the amount of genuine people seeking employment who would do a proper job it makes your skin crawl to see such bad management.

I give whole hearted credit to the "whistle-blower" - he obviously was so concerned that he came forward to tell his story. Well done to him for coming out about what's been going on.

Watched It.

Have we not learned from previous programmes and newspapers where they do the same sort of thing.

The authorities always say they will do something and then another programme is shown which still highlites they lack of security.

Just hope the people in charge at these airports sit-up and do something.

Still very worrying though!!

This is the reply i have received back from Bham Airport++++++++++++++++++++++

Dear Mrs ****

Thank you for your email, we fully understand the concerns you have
expressed. Last night was also the first time that Birmingham
International Airport had ever seen the footage of the programme.

ICTS are a third party contractor to a limited number of airlines. We
were made aware of allegations some 17 days ago and immediately launched
an investigation with all parties concerned. The behaviour of the ICTS
staff featured on the programme is not acceptable and will not be
tolerated at Birmingham Airport. Those ICTS staff involved have been
suspended.

All passengers passing through Birmingham Airport are firstly screened
by the Airport's own security processes and these were not criticised by
the programme.

The Airport wishes to reassure passengers that its operations remain
safe and secure and compliant with UK Government security requirements.
The Airport's priority has always been the safety and security of its
passengers and airline customers and it is confident that the actions
already taken will assure passenger safety and security.

I hope our actions will restore your confidence and please be assured
that despite what was shown the Airport has maintained safe standards.

We apologise for any distress this programme may have caused.
