I watched a film last night called "Click"It was about a man who could use a TV remote control to fast forward his life so he didn't have to do the mudane things in his life and he could fast track to the things he wanted to do most.This had dissasterous consequences and before he new it his life was over.The good thing about it was that he was dreaming and he changed his ways.I am guilty of this myself sometimes,wishing the days away until my next holiday to Corfu,Planning early retirement in a few years time etc.Live for today, your holiday will come soon enough.Enjoy your everyday life with your family and friends and when your holiday comes round it may just go slower than you think.Good Luck to you all,Stevie.

Stevie - I think we can all be guilty of that sometimes - and its not a good thing. Its strange though I always try to cram in as much as possible to my holidays - as it makes them seem longer - and always say "lets hope this 2 weeks will really go slowly" Even to the point now where we usually try 2 centre holidays as it does seem to make the holiday longer.

My little boy ( 7 ) is always saying - Daddy when is it going to be Easter ( at Christmas ) then when is it going to be Summer ( at Easter ) and then when is it going to be Christmas ( after his holidays ) Sad - but true .

...Yes its a sad sad would that we live in..You hear of so Meany members on this site wishing there holidays will come around wishing there lives away what comes around will soon happen and they will all be wishing for there next holiday after that one.... But some good news came out of it yesterday i have sign up to go in 2008..If the company do not move the goal post again will have to Waite and see..But with this i can not Waite for it to happen strangely enough... All this means is that we are all still Children at heart.

You know:

You have just pulled out of the driveway and the children automatically say

ARE WE THERE YET?

and so it goes on all the way to your destination.

Then the adults are saying only 94 days till we go away.

We all have the 'days to go' when we sign into these forums, it wasn't long ago when mine was at 100 days, then its 'only 100 days to go then' and how them days seem to fly.

We try to cram all we can into our holidays too, but because we go to the same apartments year after year, this seems to slow things down a little, if you hire a car it seems to make time fly by.

I think we're all guilty of this. Counting the days until the weekend or until school breaks up or our next holiday etc etc. We should take each day at a time and be thankful for it.

I agree - its good to have things to look forward to but wishing the time away just makes it go slower. Sometimes it is good to take time to enjoy the present. Its a lovely day here today and I hadn't realy noticed as I was rushing around as you do till I read this thread and it made me think. Thank you

Am sure when you were a little boy you were thinking the exact same things

Am sure most of us are guilty of doing this when we were younger.

Iys Difficult Steve, I set off from my Home every dy at 07.20am and spend an Hour sat in Traffic. The Sheer monotony of it all means I can only dream of doing something better. Yet at the same time I realise that "Time" is the most precious gift we have. I can plan 3 Holidays a year I reckon from next year, and so the plan is to focus on that, but live life to the full as well
