Hello earlybirds,

For anyone who is already thinking ahead to next year, I have noticed that the 2005 schedule for Excel Airways has been released.

I have only checked out Scottish departures, where there are some good prices for 21/28 nights in mid-June when the prices seem to dip a little.

Here is the address for anyone wishing to check them out.

Without wishing to put a damper on what looks like a good deal, please refer to this thread:

http://www.agni.gr/message_boards/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=1&TopicID=2564&PagePosition=1

about Excel (among others), as they have apparently passed on a lot of bookings to other airlines, so please don't assume that if you book with them that you will necessarily be flying on one of their swish planes with leather seats! or at the times you thought you would be flying.

Of course this is the situation this year, and may be different next year.

Hi Pete 'n' Julie,

Your quite correct about Excel passing on the bookings to other airlines, in the last year we have booked with them 4 times, but only on 2 of the occasions we have actually flown with their own airline.  Perhaps we have been lucky but this has never created any problems, nor flight time changes.

A few weeks ago it was Air Malta we flew with, no in-flight entertainment, but thats not a problem for me as I like to pass the time reading.  I'm off again in 9days time so it will be interesting to see who we actually end up flying with this time!!

I have been to Corfu quite a lot lately (6 time last year and already twice this year). There has been no in-flight films for two years now on any on the many routes we have used with most of the major airlines. We used to always get a film but this seem's to have finished now.  I believe this is due  to the shortened time it takes to get to Corfu.

P.S. It only took 2hr50min when we travelled there last month

Talking of Early birds - it's a well known fact they always get the worm but, did you also know that the second mouse always gets the cheese.

Did you also know - Little Anty below walks 2700 millimeters each time he puts my name together every time someone opens a page with one of my posts on. 2700 multiplied by 180 or so posts multiplied by the several hundred people reading these posts everyday - MMMmmmm Works out at many miles in a day, no wonder he looks tired out. Makes me tired watching him - I'll have to see if I can give him a rest.

Sorry Jo - I'm cross threading again......... LOL

I thought it was the only time I could do a bit (of cross threading) without you moderators sitting there ready to bounce me for it.

Jo - Yes thanks, I do - but do you?
