Dont really know if this is on the right board but here goes.

We arrived in Corfu at 0625 on 9th February 2007, there was a taxi driver waiting for us and he took us straight to Irene's apartments, when we opened the door there was a lovely note from Dimitri's along with an invitation from the two families and a bottle of Mataza and one of Ouzo, which almost started me crying. Anyway for the rest of the day we were at Dimitri's house making arrangements as to what we had to do on the big day. In the evening Spiro's took us out for a meal along with Fiona and Roy (A Big Thank You there)
The big day arrived, after having breakfast with Spiro we went back to the apartment had a rest then started to get ready, (at that point panic I realized we hadn't packed Pete's white shirt ) again Spiro came to the rescue. Anyway we arrived at the grooms house at 1530 and had a drink (thats when the picture of the day was taken) we then all proceeded up to the church, wow the cars don't know how long the possesion was but it was long. all peeping horns and shouting, when we got there we all stood and waited for the Bride to arrive, Dimitri's with flowers in hand to give to her, at about ten to five we heard the Bridal possestion was on its way. How wonderful Litza looked she arrived at church at 5 o clock (Ive heard of being late before but I began to think she was not coming) anyway we all followed the Bride and Groom in.
We were amazed at how relaxed it all was, People chatting and shouting across the Ilse's at each other,Then the service started I honestly can not put into words how beautiful it was, Dimitri's burst into laughter a few times and we were handed  little bags of rice, when the crowns were put on rice was every where (cant Imagen that happening over here) I must now mention Ralf (the best man) as Dimitri's and Litza walked round the alter he followed them swapping the crowns round all the time it was a wonder he didn't get tangled up himself as they are attached with ribbon. The service took an hour and would take me 4 hours to descibe in detail.
Afterwards we got in the mini bus to travel to the reception.
The first thing I noticed was the cake such a wonderful and large cake I have never seen before and shouldn't imagine I will again, we were all sat down and the first course was served ( I found this very strange eating before the Bride and Groom had arrived) When they did arrive they both looked so amazingly radiant together the whole place just lite up all the guest knocked there forks against their plate's (this went on all night at intervals) anyway the couple cut the cake and had a glass of champaign and then another course arrived and then another and so on.
The band started after we had finished and the dancing started, first of all Litza and Dimitri's were on the floor after a little while they split up and got other partners and so on. The next dance was the Greek circle dance, well that was it I was determined to show to represent you all and prove that we all celebrate for them. I like to think that I did it quite well, (nobody laughed out load anyway, you know how polite they are) everybody danced with each other it was fantastic. We danced all night there were a few circles's formed with solo  dancers in can they move, I still don't know if the movements were just made up as they went along to express how they were feeling or set steps, but it doesn't matter all were fabulous. The mini bus came to collect us at No idea what time, who cares anyway.
The next day I went for a walk to clear my head ans was amazed to see Litza and Dimitri's sitting on the terrace, again we were asked to join them along with Ralf and his wife. Dimitri's down loaded our memory card on to his computer and we decided it was time to leave them along, but not for long, we had been asked to join them at 1830 and they took us out for a lovely meal. When we got home I suddenly relised that we wouldn't see them again until May and just didn't want to come back but we had to be at the airport by 0600hrs and then fly home. Only 84 more days before we see the Newly Weds and our beloved Corfu again. We do sincerely feel very touched and honored to have been invited to their Big Day and will never forget it. Lots of Love to them Both.

So glad that you had a brilliant time at the wedding and that it was everything and more than you hoped for.

Hi, The Wedding ceramoney itself was at St.Theodore in Magoulades Village and the reception was at the Gallina Village hotel in Acharavi which I would recommend for any celebration. Viv.M

Hi, what lovely photo's.  I have not had the pleasure of attending a Greek wedding yet, although I am getting married there myself in July. So that will be my Greek wedding.  My Mam has been to a few wedding’s in Corfu and both times the Bride has been fashionably late.  Apparently, they try to be as late as possible because it’s the only time they are aloud to be late.
