As we have never been to Corfu before can you tell me what is the best month for good weather and more chance that holiday homes are available for taking virtual tours and digital photography?

We have to avoid months like July, August as these are the peak seasons for booking, we also know that the first direct flight from Scotland will not start until May, so we are thinking about May. Is the weather okay in May as we need lots of good sunny weather for outside shots.

We are planning to go to Corfu next year and just want to make sure that we are picking the right month to go.

Thanks

Maria

Hi Maria

We often go in May and have found that, while the weather during the day is usually lovely and warm, there is always the chance of rain for a couple of days in the week.  Also, the evenings can be cool and you will need light jackets if yo are eating out.

The weather in June is generally much more settled without having the intense heat of July and August but even in June you may have the odd cloudy day.

Personally, I much prefer the first two weeks of September for a perfect break.  The madness and overcrowding of late July and August has died down by then but the weather is still great.

Thanks for the reply it looks like we may have better weather in June as we really need blue sky for the virtual tours and if we want to go before the big tourist rush.

Are the flight prices still reasonable in June?

If you are able to travel from Gatwick, you should have a look at the new British Airways flights (they start in May 2007) as the prices are pretty good.

There was a recent thread about it: BA Flights

Hi,Maria,We always go in June,2nd and 3rd week.Usually,halfway through our holiday,it goes from very warm,to hot,wheras when we go in September,it varies so much!2 years ago,we had a lovely fortnight,though this year,we had thunderstorms,and cloudy days,after a lovely start,and the last 2 days were warm,so June for me,bobbo.

Hi Maria,

The flight prices can be fairly reasonable for June.  If you are prepared to wait until the last minute then you could like us pick up a late deal for £50 return from Newcastle.

Although this would probably not be an option for you if you are restricted to a timetable for your virtual tours and villa photo shoots.

XL for instance fly from Newcastle on a Friday evening and a Monday morning.  This may be a good idea if you need a trip outwith the normal holiday durations of 7 & 14 nights, i.e 10/17 or 21 nights.
