Here is an E mail reply i received yesterday from FlyGlobespan.....we can only hope. A few more requests may help them along, so come on people start sending those requests.

Flyglobespan have no plans ar present to fly to Corfu during the winter
months, however we are still in the process of reviewing our summer 2007
schedule.

Thankyou for your comments, I will ensure your suggestions are added to our
"suggestion list" for future destiantions.

May I recommend that you register for the Flyglobespan newsletter which will
announce any 2007 routes once they go on sale. You can register for the
email newsletter at the bottom left corner of the color=#0000ffwww.flyglobepspan.com

Tried to send a request as you suggested but can't seem to find them.

The link doesn't seem to take me there, just a page of random links or am I missing something?

Just typed in www.flyglobespan.com and it came up no problem....may have been the other link has a problem with it. If this still does not work type the address manually into your browser address bar.

They don't sound too keen but hopefully with a bit of persuasion.....!!

At least the thought is in their heads now!

Apologies as this has obviously come up times before, but as I'm new to the site - why is there no holiday season in Corfu for Brits from end of October to April?

Is UK alone in not providing flights or does it apply to other countries as well? Is it the weather? Do the Corfiots want a well deserved break?

I believe the only other destination which is similar is Menorca.

See the link below, from a long running thread in trying for the same thing. The answer is always the same. It makes you think you are getting close, but your not. The operations departments of the airlines, in particular the low cost, no frill airlines give the same response.

This is possible, due to the monopoly of other airlines who use Corfu. They are reluctant to let others in, as this will most probably take away a lot of business.

I have spent many a time on the telephone, I have written, faxed and emailed airlines by the score, and many times to each. Sometime back, someone said I would be wasting my time. Maybe so, but I have kept the correspondence going in the hope.

In answer to the other question. Air Berlin via Dusseldorf, then LTU to Corfu is an all year round business, and very cheap. This starts at Stanstead. Flybe, fly from Southampton, to Dusseldorf also. In both cases this is the proper Dusseldorf airport, not the Ryanair/Easy jet one.

Thanks. Very helpful - and now I know what a thread is as well!! (I kid you not)

Southampton (my Birthplace) is about 190 miles from my home in Wales so ideal.

This site has opened my eyes to alternative airlines - some of whom I've never heard of before. Sheltered life, probably!
