As maria has just said which is what i was going to post on here they are saying the strike is going to be as maria has stated so you will be fine! (lucky u!!) lol
Maria: i do hope they stop it, it will be a nightmare at the airport otherwise, i'm all for safety but this is a different matter.
Also the airports need to hotten up something bad. A friend of a friends son went to Ibiza from stansted and he was over there while we had all the trouble in our airports, and 2 days before he was due to come back he looked at his passport and it was over a yr out of date and he didn't know whether to tell someone or to just chance it as he didn't think they would be able to sort it out in time for his flight home, so decided to chance it. They were delayed by a day because of the problems that were going on and he still got back home no problem!! THATS SECURITY FOR YOU!!
I think rather than someone standing there and checking the passports, which they clearly don't do properly anyway, they need to have a computer with scanner and scan the barcode type bit which would check it, and something like that would be brought to their attention straight away! Maybe this wouldnt work but something needs to be done. This way they could keep a closer eye on people coming in and out of different countries who shouldnt, this is why they don't know how half the people have got into our country!!
