How often did you have to re-apply Alison?

I remember some test results that were published that said the Avon sss was only effective for a short period of time.

I always take some with me anyway, as a moisturiser.

Are the blighters bad during the daytime just now?

It seemed to last most of the day or until I rinsed it off and I was very hot and sweaty (and smelly) for most of the time.

The flies and mozzies didn't seem too bad in the resorts, I was fine as long as I (showered) wore the repellent and plugged in the little machine thing at night. The were a few more at the sanctuary but that's right out in the middle of the island.
