Hi

My husband really fancies one of those three wheeler things as well. They look just the job for those tiny roads and bends in the hills. Great for nipping to the the builders merchant for a few bags of cement and stuff like that.

What make are they?

i think that the great vehicles you are on about is the 'ape 50' made by piaggio and possibly honda:

we have often admired their advanced technology and sturdy chassis...

Oi Bruce!

It was my idea - so why should someone else get the fun???

(By the way, Alison is my little sister [:star:].  We just like the same types of lifestyle and it is much nicer sharing a house with family than with a lodger!)

I love some of the photos on those links you gave.  The problem with taking one over from the UK is the hefty Greek registration costs that would make it impractical.  That is why I was wondering about getting one on the island.

By the way, I remember there were a couple of posts on the old Greek Life forum that gave details of a secondhand car place somewhere near Corfu Town.  Can anyone repost this information (or any other places that have them)?

Also, does anyone know approximate prices on the island for secondhand cars and the kind of things that are generally available - makes/models, ages and costs if possible?

Thanks

Stuart

Have you considered the 'Green option' Stuart?
Wonderful mileage, great for hitch-hikers and also keeps the lawn down...

On second thoughts.... You might have a bit of trouble with the bags of cement...

Thanks for the thought but I already have a little sister to keep the lawn down!!  []

Mind you, just thinking about all the "fun" we would have pooper-scooping a donkey when you go for a walk could swing the balance!  [xx(]

Stuart,

When we looked for cars, the cheapest I saw was an old Suzuki (don't know how old) possibly an Alto, it had three doors so was small.  It was 3000 Euros.  Our neighbour sold his Fiat Seicento, probably 10 years old or thereabouts for 2,500 Euros.  The older cars seem to have held their value better than newer second hand cars.
