Hi All many thanks for this topic.I am looking to fly to Corfu Feb/Mar 2006..

I haven't got a clue, to which direction I can take, that will  get me there...

So please correct me if I've picked things up wrong.

This is my path out from Scotland to Corfu and as an example.with the info provide..

from Glasgow to Düsseldorf   using Ryanair  then changing to

LTU's website = http://www.ltu.com/world/ Düsseldorf to Corfu on the LTU site

Wonder if you can book connecting flights...Prices as said, are very reasonable...

Thanks

Roseanne

Things must change during April / May then . No good for me I'm afraid , but thanks everyone for the info .

Kind Regards.....J&H

As a matter of interest, as I am considering visiting Corfu for Easter (23rd April), and using the Air Berlin/LTU route, UK to Corfu via Dusseldorf (and not Athens), I got the following prices, including all taxes. This is for a visit to Corfu 20th - 27th April.

Flying out of Stanstead on the 19th April (means an overnight sleep at Dusseldorf), but maybe worth it.

19 Apr - Stn to Dus - Dep 2030 Arr 2245 - £6.00 plus taxes

20 Apr - Dus to Cfu - Dep 0605 Arr 0935 - £99.00 plus taxes

27 Apr - Cfu to Dus - Dep 1020 Arr 1155 - £105.00 plus taxes

27 Apr - Dus to Stn - Dep 1505 Arr 1520 - £8.00 plus taxes

Totol Cost including taxes etc = £270 Return per person.

This is via the main Dusseldorf Airport and not Weeze. Would that be considered a good price for an out of season holiday break, taking into consideration one would need accommodation on top of this.

Using this route for Christmas works out expensive.

Yammas. Chris

Yes John, having done quite a few inputs this morning, it appears that the 11th April is when the direct flights start, Dusseldorf to Corfu. Mind you going via Athens would not cause too much of a problem as it appears there is no need to change flights at Athens. A sort of a triangular route by LTU.

Hi again all

re: John and Hilary's post about LTU going via Athens.... yes it appears this is so for the next few months...... I get the impression that LTU are testing the water with this flight by tagging it on to their normal Athens service, hence direct flight on the return leg, but it appears that it is only a stop over in Athens and not a change of aircraft. It would of been nice if the likes of Easyjet did this, but seems at least one company is at least trying, so hopefully if the service gets used enough who knows..... maybe Corfu will get a better winter service.

I have spoken to Easyjet, Flybe, and other airlines about this, and flying a triangular route, but most say it is not viable. When I explain to them that others are doing this, and not only to Corfu, but to other destinations also, it does not seem to get through to them.

As you say Mac, hopefully other airlines will see LTU's progress, and have a change of mind. Wishful thinking maybe.

Yammas, Chris.

Hi Chris

Do have a look at the Greece and Cyprus Travel Cente website. They have Olympic flights from Gatwick or Heathrow to the Islands via Athens starting at £209.

Might be worth a look - we have booked this way in the past at it has proved worthwhile.

Martyn
