Pounding head, runny nose, achy body, chesty cough...... sound familiar???

Yes, i'm absolutely full of the flu Have the antibiotics, cough medicine, any other remedies anyone might have please pass on as I only have a week to go before my hols & I need to get rid of this desperately!!!

The only thing to lift my spirits was when I logged into the CTG website and saw my holiday countdown

I'm leaving work in 2 hours, so will be heading home for the weekend to snuggle up and try to shake this thing off, maybe start packing too if i get a burst of energy

PS. Any prayers along with remedy welcome also

Hi Maurs,

I would recommend hot toddy consisting of crushed paracetemol in hot water with honey and lemon and scotch or brandy and orange, sweat it out over the weekend. If it has not shifted the day or so before you go then get some suppresants like Day nurse or night nurse. I always find the earlier I start taking suppresants, the longer the symptoms last. Good luck.

Day Nurse and Night Nurse are the things that work for me, try them and keep warm and take plenty of fluids (non-alcoholic) You should be over the worst of it within 72 hours, if not the clear Greek air will sort you out - I had a cough which lasted for 5 weeks this Spring but 2 days in Corfu and it disappeared.

...Hi ya...The wife had it bad that lasted two weeks as she took the above remedy's and i ended up with a sore throat and that lasted a week...hope you are soon well to enjoy your holiday..chris

Overdose on euchinatia (spelling?) it's herbal so won't make you ill. Works for me every time.

Maureen All the best I hope you can get rid of it. I went feeling like you in June my nose was running all over the place. But as soon as they opened the door on the plane and i felt that air and sunshine and got some brandy down my throat i felt a lot better it dried up in a couple days

Echinacea i find works if you take it before symptoms are too bad , not sure if it will help you though.

if all else fails sunshine will sort it out, and lets face it you wont get much this week.

Hi all

Well tried most remedies recommended, and a few more! Am glad to say that am feeling nearly 100% better, but because I took so many remedies I'm not sure what worked ha ha!!

Anyway, thanks for all the tips, tricks & well wishes, roll on Friday!!
