We are considering going to Corfu for the first time this year and staying in Acharavi in the Ano Studios. Has anbody stopped in these apartments before?

We're 18 and 22 and are looking for a quiet holiday away from the 18 to 30's, we're going to relax not party. Hopefully we want somewhere with nice beaches, nice shops and pubs and resturants for a bit of nightlife. Is Acharavi going to live up to our expectations?

If anyone can gelp it would be greatly appreciated. Thanx a Lot.

Hi Emma and Mark,

I have found some wonderful reviews on the Ano Studios in Acharavi, they have been taken from the holidays uncovered website:

Ano Studios - Acharavi

Operator and Date: Golden Sun - May 2004

Opinion submitted in June 2004 by : Emma McDonnell- Wirral (23,24,24,24)

Resort Rating: Excellent

Accommodation Rating: Very Good

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

I have just got back from a weeks stay at Ano Studios and have no complaints whatsoever. Apartments are clean just the right size and are in a good location. Acharavi itself is a lovely place if you are staying at Ano Studios no doubt you will use the pool at the Chrisa Hotel which is just over the road this is run by an English couple Sue and Jim and they are the nicest people you could meet.

Acharavi has some lovely restaurants our nicest meal was at the Lemon Garden which is a barbecue restaurant the food was perfect. Im sure you will have a fantastic time if you are going out there.
The beach is around a 5min walk from the studios and is nice although slightly pebbly. Its that nice we will probably go back this year.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

We have just had one of the best Holiday in Acharavi,

It is a lovely resort, no loud Disco's or noisy bars, just the right mix of Tavernas shops and resturants. We stayed at the Ano Studio's and were very pleased, it was very clean and roomy,We had the usual two rings(I dont cook on holiday anyway) There was very little in the way of pots and cutlery if you do though. We had a small oven/grill a breakfast bar and stools, there was plenty of room, we had a small sofa, dressing table and stool, bedside cabinets and wardrobe. We were at the back and overlooked the owners well kept garden and mountains the sun shone in all day. nice balcony too, shower etc was all clean and ok. all in all it was excellent. The ones at the front were set back from the road a bit and could see the sea (I am told) but also had the noise of the road.
Beach very nice and safe life guard on duty at times, 10 minute walk to the beach.

We tried to eat at a different resturant every night but went back to Acharavi Park three times in our opinion that was the best one, very very nice steaks at 6 euros. They were very efficient did not rush you but were there the minute you needed any thing.Went to Valentines on the beach and in the Town, beach one is cheaper for some reason and better atmosphere, though both serve good food. The pumphouse also very nice.

We hired a car from Euro hire and it would take longer to get a Macdonalds here than hire a car there. We asked for the cheapest for one day and got a five door hyundi with air con for 30 Euro's, Without it would of been 28euro's, we may have got lucky because it was third week in Sept and going quiet for them.

We went up Mount Pandokrator, wow! what a wonderful veiw, very steep but worth it the monestry on top is lovely.
All in all we found nothing to grumble about on holiday. well maybe the airport but hey its abroad They do things diferent from us we got off on time so no worries. We will certainly be going back.

Also take a look on the Acharavi resort guide for more information of things to do and see!

Hello Emma and Mark

The Ano attracts people back year after year.  They are on the main road so (if you have a front room) there could be a little noise from the traffic.  The quality of the rooms outweighs this small annoyance.  The back rooms (away from the road) have spectacular views and you are in the centre of Acharavi.

There have been some contractual problems and unfortunately it closed for a while a couple of weeks ago.  There are other posts on this site regarding this issue.

Have a great holiday and be sure to let us know how you got on.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

We had a really nice time in Acharavi. We hired a car for the first couple of days and went all over the island. Acharavi was very nice - there were plenty of nice places to eat and things to see and do. We would definately go back to the Ano Studio's which was very clean and had all the basics and a nice balcony over looking the beach. The beach was a 2min walk. It was the best holiday I ve had so far

 Hope they help.
