Hi Janey, wild horses wouldn't keep me out the sun I'm afraid! It's really not that bad, so I'll be all wrinkly as well

Cindy, have a look here http://www.australiangold.com/ for their full range of products.

hi thereTrace and Jovi

Am interested in the Australian Gold products. Went onto their website as you suggested Trace, but found that because there are so many products available it became somewhat confusing, incidently [ as i'm sure you know] you can't order online.

Where did you purchase yours from and what advice were you given?

Am I right in thinking that this product is something that stimulates and enhances melanin production and is it just like a clear lotion that you apply about a fortnight or so before you hit the sun? Am I likely to have patchy areas if some parts are not as well prepared as others?

I am olive skinned anyway and go dark quite easily...but you know how it is? Anything to give a girl a helping hand!!!!

Hi Bevie you can purchase Austrailian Gold and lots of other great tanning accelerators etc on ebay.  Here is the link to the ebay shop (tanning etc) which I always use, reasonable prices and very fast delivery.

You can email the seller a question to ask them which cream they think would be suitable for you.  I think most of the Austrailian Gold range is to be used in sunbeds.  I personally use the Synergy Tan range, Brown Envy is very good and you can use this outdoors also.

Hope this helps but if you have any more questions I will try to help the best I can!

Janelc - My mum used to use olive oil on her legs in the sun, is it not dangerous?  Do you think I could use some on the bottoms of my legs near the end of my holiday for an added boost?  I don't mind smelling like a greek salad, cos I LOVE greek salad and olive oil! lol

One more question, should I use extra virgin olive oil, or just the cheepy stuff?! lol Only messin!

Hi Natalie

I guess it depends upon how much cooking in the sun you're going to do. The flavour of extra virgin is spoilt by cooking, so use the the less expensive stuff (LOL)

Thanks for that Martyn, theres no point in buying good quality olive oil as I'll be cooking as you say it would lose its beautiful flavour, oh well just means I can't recycle the oil by mopping it up with some bread!  lol

Hi Bev,

I buy my Australian Gold from my local sunbed shop (naughty I know), but that way I can try a tester of the various different creams/gels available.

Be aware that it is highly recommended that you do a small test patch before buying any of these creams. They are expensive and some people can take a reaction to the ingredients.

Hi Bev,Like Trace,i bought my Austrailian GOLD from the sun tanning shop just up the road from me.It cost £10.I thought it was quite a reasonable price.SPF 8.The next one up from that was an SPF 30.TOO high for me.

Am I right in thinking that this product is something that stimulates and enhances melanin production

apparently so.

Been on sunbed today,so have used my Austrailian Gold. Only had 6 mins in there, and you can see a difference on my face already.Have paid £20 for a months sunbed sessions, which gives me unlimited use.Plenty of time to base my skin before hols. LOVELY.

Trace......cheers for the link.Quite a range of products.I like the look of the BEARLY LEGAL one.Have a FAB holiday.Look forward to hearing all about it when you get back.Safe journey.
