Think you will be a bit stuck in Paleocastritsa as still winter schedules.

Look at the Argo website, in Benitses, reasonable and excellent value.

Is your 25 Euros for both of you or per person. If per person I know of somewhere good that can offer B and B for 40 Euros a night for 2- pm me

Also try Hotel Konstantinoupolis in town

Benitses is a good option, with easy access to the town. Would recommend Hotel Eros for modern, well-furnished and clean accomodation with sea views and friendly owners.

Agree with Janmanessi, the Argo would seem to be ideal, and I know that Spiro and Anne who own it would make you most welcome. Also you need to consider that wherever you chose, you may need heating at night. We went in 1982 on the 26th April and the heating was on in the hotel.

www.argobenitses.gr is the website for the Argo.

Please do not let the cooler weather put you off. It is a wonderful time to visit, the locals have more time to spend with you and are fresh from having a good rest in the wintertime.

Corfu is a wonderful island, but it is the people who make it even better and help to draw back returning visitors for many years.

We've also stayed at the Argo, which is fine, but on balance prefer the Eros

Looked at Kassiopi as suggested, but somehow doesn't really appeal. Browsing again and came across a little place further south called Boukari and around that area. Both of us are looking for a place with a local feel to it. Not looking for busy resorts not that it would be in April I know.

Good point. According to booking.com it has heating / air conditioning but it's always best to check these things directly with the hotel

Think Petriti would have more local feel to it than Boukari as it is a real village, but at that time of year I would like to be within the more frequent local bus route area to Corfu, so would look again at Benitses- suggested Argo as in the old village, also the B and B I mentioned is full of local character

Petriti will definitely be open-I'll be here in my house! You will definitely need a bit of warmth though in the accommodation at night if it's holiday accommodation.
Petriti will have at least 4 tavernas and 2 bars and all the shops open.
And Spiro Karides taverna and Kalami taverna in Boukari will also be open- only 20 minute walk along he coast - if you want any more info please feel free to pm me
