When you use the kindle to browse books it can take a bit of time (on SF alone there are over 21,000 books) so, I tend to keep a shortcut on my PC to Amazon and dive in and browse books from there. I pay using 'single-click' and accumulate them and then when I next switch on my Kindle it automatically downloads them ready for me to read.
My bank statement looks like an Amazon catalogue printout when I get it

Another small bonus - my Kindle also has a clock which is good as I rarely wear a watch and I do tend to lose track of time when I'm reading in the garden.

I think they're of tremendous benefit for those living on Corfu and without access to English language bookshops or an effective second hand market. I can also see the obvious advantages for holiday reading but as yet have not been tempted.
One thing I would say is that after looking at a screen all day I enjoy relaxing with a paper book. I also love having books around the house. Hopefully there is room for both markets and we don't see the closure of even more book shops but I'm not too hopeful.

Quite a few of you have books that maybe other of us have not.
It's a shame that we cannot set up a sort of swap shop.
We tend to leave ours, once read, at the villa or throw them away which is a bit of a waste of money.

Most of the posts are about the Kindle but I have now found other Ebook readers at lower prices so my question is does anyone have any experience of any of the others on offer?
Or, is the Kindle the pinnacle?

Check out Which magazine. They tested all the available e-books and the Kindle and I think it was the Sony came out as the two best. Moyra

The best thing about having the 3G & Wi Fi Kindle is that when on holiday sunbathing and you finish your last book, you don't have to leave your sunbed to get another book. You can access the Amazon site and choose your new book, once chosen it takes a maximum of 5 seconds to be on your Kindle ready to read. As a lot of the Kindle books on Amazon are free, this makes the process even better. Also does not add to the weight of your luggage.

Thanks for the offer.
Any list of what you have?
I am currently into Lee Childs and Michael Connelly.
Do you have any of these?
Cheers,
Chris
