Sorted then. Must admit I haven't used my Kindle yet as have found all my books on Greece that I left here and have been re reading them. However, when I go back to the UK in November am convinced it will save me from buying all the second hand books from the charity shops that I used to buy, so the I can return them all so that they can re sell them.

You have lots of replies but mine is ... go for it! I love my Kindle so much. Bought the case witha light which means I can read at night without disturbing my husband. Downloaded books at wifi spots, it is simply fantastic, so easy to read in sunlight and you don't have to even move a muscle to turn the page! Best thing I have bought for ages x

Hi Elizajay, I'm so pleased Mr E likes his pressie. You're always a bit nervous about recommending something that strongly in case the person DOESN'T like it. So, I take it he now knows what YOU want for Christmas - at least part! We're off to Corfu again in the morning. Taxi pick up at 5am, so have to go to bed now and TRY to sleep for a few hours! Moyra

Had an email from Amazon yesterday saying they have bought out a smaller kindle for £85. Not a smaller screen but can only hold 1400 books and does not have so many bells and whistles as the more expensive kindles.
You can still get newspapers etc and the battery will need charging once a month.
Just thought I would let you know.

I think the new kindle (£89) is a perfect economy version it has lost nothing that you need. Its done away with the keyboard and the 3G and has just the wifi and all else appears the same.
I think the keyboard on the kindle is a waste of space anyway... how many people use it? Its meant for writing notes in the margins and highlighting text.. but I learned as a kid never to deface books and that won't change now they have gone electronic.
I was going to get that one for the Missus but, now I'm waiting for the new colour one to come over to the UK and then I will pass this one on to her and then we are both happy.
