Are the main travel company's still using them big planes with no room to sit comfortably, last time we went I have never been so uncomfortable on a plane, one guy had to stand all the way,

Worst of the big un's is the 757, 767 a little better. I'm 6' 2" and always pay for extra leg room.

I am afraid you get what you pay for. Big planes can have loads of leg room, but only if you pay for scheduled flights.

So yes, any package holiday using charter flights will be a case of fit as many seats in as possible to keep prices low

If you use one of the small independent travel companies you will get the choice of other flights including scheduled one - but it will cost you!!

As has been suggested pay for more leg room if you are tall

I have been to several of the islands and had no problems with room on planes but with Rhodes they pack them in.
