Im glad you managed not to burn dinner or the house!! Well done!!!..julesxx

We won't know anything definitive about the op until tomorrow, I'll let you all know in due course.

I'm going to bed now, big kingsize bed, alll to myself, I'm going to sleep like a starfish!

I'm sure they will do it as thats what happened to me, hope everything goes okay. It really makes me mad when they let you suffer like that when its a simple keyhole op, the pain is the worst I've ever known, even worse than childbirth!!!

Good for you. My husband almost set fire to our kitchen two Saturdays ago. He'd put a pizza in the oven, when he went to check on it he found it in flames. Turned out he'd put the grill (which is in the smaller oven of our double oven cooker) on rather than the oven. Luckily the flames had not spread beyond the pizza.
I hope that Julie gets her operation soon and recovers well so you can both enjoy your holiday without worrying.

Hi, hope Jules is OK and gets the op and recovers soon so she can enjoy her holiday. We are in a similar predicament, we booked before Christmas when all was fine, my Hubby 60 in June and its our 10th wedding anniversary, (we got married in Corfu) so like you wanted to renew our vows, in fact Jules gave me some information on how to organize it. The trouble is since we booked it Alan has had 6 trips to hospital for a biopsy, 2 scans, bloods taken and a whatsit called, where they put a camera up a mans pride and joy!! Said he would rather have been watching match of the day. Lucky for him hes not in a lot of pain but the worry of not knowing, and whether we get the holiday, and how we stand with insurance etc. But as much as we would love the holiday getting the right results, or if not getting him well is the main priority as I am sure it is with Jules. Fingers crossed we all get there, and if we do must meet up for a drink at Cocktails and Dreams, send her my best wishes for a speedy recovery, and hope all well lol Ann xxx

I went to a&e every time I got a flare up because I couldn't stand the pain, they kept me in each time and I was put on drips etc and in the end I had been in so many times they just kept me in and done it before my operation date. I'm sure these doctors don't realise just how painful gall stones are, if they did you would have the op a lot quicker, I had suffered for 17 years before it was diagnosed, I changed doctors in the end and he sent me for a test straight away, for 17 years I was told it was gastritus!!!

I was told for 3 years it was... firstly renal colic ie; trapped wind right down to growing pains!!! Wouldn't mind I was in my late 20's at the time!!!

I do remember though finally seeing the consultant who diagnosed the gall stones and then proceeded to give a a ticking off stating that I shouldn't be suffering with gall stones because I was not in the triple F category.... confused I asked what this meant, to which he replied FAT, FEMALE AND 40!!! Wow thanks for that!!

At least I was finally correctly diagnosed though and had the op within 10 weeks.

Steve - send Julie our best wishes and hope they can operate finally so she can get it all out of the way before her holidays.

Michelle x

My goodness me sounds like you been to same doctor as me. When I asked for help with over weight, cause piled 3 stone on in a year with no apparent reason, got told to eat less and get used to being hungry. Oh the joy of having a good doc, he was not my regular doc thank god
