Hi would just like to see if anyone could point me in the right direction for renting a small place in Corfu - not too bothered about the area as long as its on a bus route or near enough to a supermarket (as when hubby is in UK I dont drive). I would be looking for a two bed place at least, 3 if possible, I dont care if there is cosmetic work to do - I would be after approx a 10 year tenancy (to bring us near retirement) with a reasonable rent of £200 per month. Do you think this is possible?
Also, is there much interest in TEFL in Corfu? (Private lesson's).

Hi Ray, is yours a long-term rent? Do you live there 12 month's of the year? How did you find a place to rent? Would you say that was "average rental"? I dont mind paying that amount but we have lived in Crete for a while and the property there was very poorly maintained, the location wasnt too good and we were paying 550 euro which I thought was too much but 350 seems OK.
Cheers Ray it would be good to hear from you re the above.

We rented a newly built two bedroom apartment overlooking the sea near Ageas Andreas and close to Karousades for four months 1st February to 31st May and paid 400E a month including bills. I know there are cheaper places but we went for the view. Personally I would rent somewhere short term and check out your options. Perhaps an annual rental agreement with an option to renew, or not, might be adviseable.

Hi suzy k
We live heir full time,it is right by the s ea nice in the summer but a bit cold and sumtimes damp in the winter,
Steves place sounds nice and at a good price but weather thay would let it for a long time I do not know.
Their are two other apartments next to us and thay all so live full time their, and I know that the land lord would be happy to rent for as long as you like.
We took out a one year lease.(all above board) so no tax problems as we have to declar it on our tax form eavery year.
We hope to move out in August this year, so if you are over heir p/m me and I will tell you wheir we Live.

Hi Ray & Gisela,
I hope you're both well
In answer to your question and for anyone else who is interested there are four apartments and two of them have been rented by Brits on a yearly basis but they just come and go as and when they want although of course they could remain all year if they wanted. I know the cost was 3500E per anum excluding bills and there are either one or possibly two vacant since our policeman neighbour moved out this year.

Ray & Gisela,
We wont actually be in Corfu until September but you have given me a good idea of approx cost - thanks for that! Also, Nuffstrong that was appreciated regarding
the short-term let idea rather than committing for the long term I think your right, its sensible to keep our options open.
Regards
Suzy K
