We've booked with First Choice & weren't told about this at time of booking, however after reading booking confirmation found this under Customer Services section:
"Essential Information For All Passengers"
For border control reasons, airlines now have to give Advanced Passenger Information to goverment authorities. This includes your passport information. Plus, anyone travelleing to the United States will need to give their first night address too.
You need to supply this information in the six months before you're due to travel by visiting http://eapi.thomson.co.uk and quoting booking reference number xxxxxxx. If you're travelling within four days of booking you won't be able to do this online. Instead, you'll need to provide the information when you check in at the airport.
It's really important you do this - in fact, if you don't complete it in full, or the information you've given us isn't accurate, you may not be able to travel.
"Spike" as Thomsons & First Choice are same company I would check your paperwork.....

It will probably be on your final invoice. It is on ours which arrived about 10 days ago to remind us that payment is due by the 19th of this month.

Thanks for highlighting this We've booked through Travel Republic to fly with Viking this summer. No-one has mentioned API. I have to contact them about something else so I'll make an enquiry about that at the same time.

Strangely enough the last few times I've booked with easyjet have had to give this info but a fortnight ago I flew from Belfast to Turkey. From Belfast to Heathrow with flybmi had to give API but from Heathrow to Turkey with Cyprus/Turkish airlines was not asked for API. Both these flights were booked online and details came up to fill in API when putting in passenger details.
Incidently although not on topic Cyprus/Turkish airlines were wonderful, the staff were so friendly and the meal was really nice and plenty of it.

Same goes here Hazel, I knew nothing about API until I read it on here!!
We're flying with Monarch airlines and have booked via Olympic Holidays. I have looked on the WWW and though Monarch mention it, I can't find anything on it on the Olympic website. I need to phone Monarch concerning extra leg room so I'll mention it at the same time.
Thank you Spike for drawing our attention to this.
