Excellent, a least if it goes for over £20 the money is going to a good cause.

- Better still, every penny it sells for will go to a good cause, thanks to the generosity of Maria, the author, who signed and donated it!

We also have a signed copy of her other book, a novella "The Pimping of Panorea"; as well as copies of her husband Jim's book - Corfu Blues, Kim Green's - Paging Aphrodite and Deborah Lawrenson's Songs of Blue and Gold, and The Art of Falling. All have been donated and signed by the authors...

I heard that the reason this book is so expensive is because it was published in Australia.

Hi, just to say that I went on line to order this and it came I think from the States and they wanted something like £89.00 for a paperback which obviously I couldn't and wounld't pay for. How can they justify this price for a paperback? Have bought 'Greek Walls' instead.

I agree, this price is ridiculous, but I feel sure you can purchase it much cheaper than that. Why not either contact the author direct to ask where you can buy her work at a reasonable price - she has a website through which you can contact her:

Maria Strani Potts

Or alternatively contact her publisher:

Cat of Porvecchio publisher

Who are offering the book at AU$26.95 - which is around £13.50, and through whom you can order a copy.

It seems a shame not to enjoy a good read just because some places are asking silly money for a copy!

We are waiting for contact from someone who is selling the books very cheaply (by comparison) and you will then be able to purchase them from this site.

The current price is £10.50 with £2.75 p & p.
The time finishes on the 16th at 8.28 a.m. if anyone is interested.

Maria Strani-Potts, the author of "The Cat of Portovecchio, Corfu Tales" has been following this exchange of messages, and is equally shocked and surprised by the high prices being asked for the book by some dealers, no doubt reflecting the fact that, as an Australian publication, it has been difficult to find in the past.

Apart from the signed copy donated to the auction to support the donkeys, Maria notes that there is indeed a copy currently on EBay; arrangements are being made to make the book available through the Agni website (again with a contribution towards Animal Welfare). For further information, contact the author through her website www.mariapotts.com .
