If you want to go to Paxos but not through the tour operator why not book directly with the companies that run the day trips - Ionian Cruises and Sarris, they have both have offices in the town. As you have a car you do not need to worry about transfers from Paleo to the port.

There is a small"ish" boat which I think goes daily from Benitses to Paxos and back and you can safely park your car in Benitses for the day - free. It will save you having to go into town as you can drive down the Ropa Valley, skirt Sinarades and go through Gastouri down to Benitses.

Contact Ionian travel on (0030) 2661038690 web address is www.ionian-cruises.com They do great trips on comfortable large boats. There is also a hydrofoil called the flying dolphin from Corfu town but I dont have any further details on that. Maybe someone else on the site can help there. Paxos is beautiful and so worth a visit. Maybe go on the Paxos forum for more details. Have a great holiday.

It's 25 euro to go from St. george South...but it leaves at 8.30 in the morning, on wednesday and sunday. Not sure how long it would take you to drive there, but might be worth it for the shorter (and cheaper) boat trip?
