I got bitten loads this year, but in the past 6 years I have been going, never got bitten once - even though I went to the same report - Corfu town. Must be the perfume or body lotion I used this year, as my husband didn't get bitten at all. I found the more I scratched, the more they itched, and so the best thing is to try not to scratch them at all if you possibly can, although its a bit like torture.

Just got back and the mosquitoes are out in force this year. I used deet (from various bottles/sprays) and was bitten only a couple of times when I was late putting the stuff on.

WELL Chris....I have just returned home today..just to let you know...there are plenty mozzies, and this is the first year that I haven't been bitten !!! I got a can of :OFF: Deep Woods spray repellent ( contains Deet )   although the face mask may have helped a bit too          Keira.

Thank you one and all. Have just ordered Skin so soft dry oil spray and it's still on offer at £1.75. Here's hoping for a bite free summer. Yammas

Lawrence Hi, a little word of warning Skin so Soft is very slippy on a tile bathroom floor. I know someone who ended up with bruises all over!    really.... stand on a mat or towel. Let us know if you escape the mozzies.     Keira.

As you all know we came back from Mexico last Thursday morning...And the very last of my bites now that I have and I have almost stop scratching..No matter what I use..(in fact the lot) I still got bitten Nineteen bites in all...Fran(the wife) got bitten three times(yes they did die after biteing her(lol) and are Granddaughter NONE at all...So it just goes to show it all boils down to luck and to what body odors you give off that will attract the mozzie to you..

All I can say if you drop any thing on your arm after eating don't lick it off(like I did)it taste vile...No comments ViV and Keira( I can see you mines ticking away on this one..lol...Chris

For anyone with young children, I asked our doctor last year (my daughter was 1 at the time) what insect repellant I could use on her and the doctor receommended a cream called 'Crilon', you can buy it in the pharmacies here and it is very very good, doesn't smell too bad either. Unfortunately for my daughter the mossies seem to like the English part of her and if I dont' put the cream on she gets bitten really badly.

Oh and there are AVON reps on Corfu, just not sure who or where they're based, our local one stopped doing it but I'm sure if you contacted AVON then they'd be able to advise.

Keira...I know that every one will come with there own ideals as to what they think best for the dreaded mossies is best to put on them selves ...But at the end of the day..It just comes down to pure luck...Mossies are all like BOVRIL they will either like you and bite the hell out of you or will leave you alone...I have been to Corfu a fair few times...And at one time out in Corfu NEVER got bitten once ware the wife did..If i could find out what i had done diferent befor i went out i would know dowt have made a lot of money from it ..But who knows...Its just down to pure luck at the end of the day...Chris
