I got stung couple of weeks ago... didnt realise they look for water... it had rained and the railing on the stairs was wet... little blighter was underneath and I put my hand on it. I have only been stung once before and forgot that it hurt so much... put antihist. cream on and also germalene which deadened the pain which lasted all day tho.
we had a wasp nest above our apartment so it was very irritating to sit on the balcony and have a glass of mythos in one hand and a flip flop in the other!

The wasps were still around when we left on the 7Th Oct,we eradicated two nests!but they still kept coming!at first quite docile, but as the weeks went on they moved much faster and became very persistent!then the Hornets appeared, but heard them before we saw them.I got used to being stung!my own fault really as I made too many sudden movements pegging out the washing! We found if we ate after dark on the patio ,they had retired for the night,so could eat without a wasp helping itself from our plate,or following the food down our mouths!

Cathy, could I ask you where you went in Crete? I'm looking for the most wasp free place in Greece really!

I have ordered the Waspinators, so will be taking them over in September, which is traditionally the worst time for wasps. Have you noticed that the company who make them have been on the boards? They have said that there are a couple of strains of wasps in Greece that do not seem to be affected by the waspinator, but they will refund the money if they don't work! Can't be bad. Worth a try and can still be used at home if they don't work over there. Moyra.
