I used my nationwide flex debit card in sidari at least 6 times , kept the reciepts, and when i got home it all tallied with my bank statment, would deff recomend the nat flex card as it was recomended to me by folk on this web site , or & i didnt have ti inform them i was going abroad well i didnt...

Just a word of warning though to be watchful at ATM machines. I used mine twice in Sidari last year, when i got home had a strange withdrawal which happened 4 times the ATM machine was taking money from my account! So double check your statements when you get back i had several hundred pounds taken from my account!!

Double check any ATM before you use it - make sure it looks right - lots of devious crooks about skimming cards. We use Nationwide flex abroad as well - don't know why everyone doesn't use it - great - no commission/charges etc. Let your bank know though - they will stop the card if they see large amounts being drawn out abroad especially.

For reasons best known to myself, I recently tried to use my Barclay's Connect (debit) card here. I have used it once or twice in AB's before. It was declined at five different machines but was eventually accepted at the Alpha Bank machine in Solari. (I never discovered why it was accepted there.)
When I later tried to enter the Barclay's online banking site I was refused access.
A phone call to Barclays revealed that their Security department had blocked it on account of the high incidence of card fraud emanating from Greece. It wasn't hard to get the card and account reinstated.
However, 2 useful things came out of this. Firstly, you can notify Barclays online of your intention to travel abroad.
Secondly, they gave a direct phone number to their Security department. The number is 0044 1604614812. They will accept reverse charge calls to this number.
Just thought that I'd share this!
