Hello All.

I'm new here and I've learned a lot from the pages of this site.
My girlfriend and I will be in Corfu for a week or so in mid September. We're flying into Brindisi, Italy first and arriving via ferry. I've travelled a little in the Greek islands before by ferry and I know that some ships can be a lot better than others.
Can anyone recommend which ferry services to use from Brindisi to Corfu and back?

Hi,

A warm welcome to the Corfu Travel Guide, I hope you find lots of useful information and expertise from the various boards on these pages. In answer to your question, please take a look at the link below, with regards to a ferry service from Brindisi.

I hope you have a wonderful stay in Corfu, and do please let us know how your holiday was, and any personal info on the ferry service.

Best Wishes.

Sailor,

These look very good rates, but unfortunately the service to Corfu finishes this weekend.  Will bear is in mind for next year when we may try out this route from the UK.

There are quite few ferry lines who operate out of Brindisi, but the one we used in April (Ventouris) was very basic - only about 1*.  Have heard good reports about Strinzis and Blue Star.

If you go to the web guide section of this site there is a very comprehensive guide: www.greek-islands-travel-ferry-schedules.com

Good luck

Hi Janeb,

Also try this link for more routes to Corfu, from Venice. It says all year round (low season) except dates shown (mid and high season).

Best Wishes.

Hi

Suggest you look at www.viamare.com as this gives you full access to the Italy/Greece schedules.  I haven't checked but if the ferries are no longer calling at Corfu, it's a fairly simple exercise to go to Igoumenitsa and catch a local ferry back to Corfu - not sure of the cost, but I think it was about £25 last year each way for a car and 4 passengers.

We have only done the Brindisi/Crossing once, about 10 years ago.  Then we used Agoudimos lines. Very basic!

Martyn

The best bit of the journey fromItaly to Corfu (particularly early morning) is watching Corfu and albania rise out of the sea the closer you get.
