I have two first names and I do not like them as they are in my passport. So (25 years ago) when I got the other surname, I turned the two first names the other way round and put a line between them. So its fine!

I have booked, ordered, rented, signed, all what you do within 25 years, signed with this version of my name.

But then it started with the flight back from Corfu in July (just a few days after London and Glasgow). At the check-in they did not believe that its me, because the tickets are different from the passport. Needed a long time to convince them.

Bit later I wanted to open an account with an internet bank - and it was the same. I got difficulties because of the difference in writing the name.

Hm, I hope that in 10 days check-in stuff dont mind.

But what do do now? Could I have the passport changed in the way I want or am I forced to change the way of writing my name? I dont want to do this.

For me this is no problem, but it seems to be one officially?!?

Did anybody something similar and could give advice?

Rita - are you a UK or German national, as I'm sure that these rules are different in each country!

Hi Rita,
i�m sorry not to have any advice, but maybe will get same problems in two weeks??
I also have a line between my two names, last 35 years wrote it together but in official documents it is with a line.Yesterday booked via internet the flight tickets to Athens and Corfu, my name with a line was not accepted .The same with hotelbookings.
But i�m used the explanations, it always alarms with the security.

Other than changing your name by deed poll and then sending for a new passport for future use i cannot see any other way that you can overcome this problem?.......sorry .

Dave and Kerry, I do fear that you are right with a deed proll. But I do not need to change the passport. It is right. But all I signed is not conform with it. (OMG) Rita
