Dont now about that agent, but when booking through XL.com we were not given the opportunity to purchase a meal as an extra, and going on an XL plane, no meal paid for and none served, however they had a choice of 3 hot meals to purchase. However on the return we flew flyjet (still booked through XL) and received a free hot meal. Very confusing, the XL flight however the flight number had a V at the end of it, the flyjet one did not, so if it had a V you had to purchase, if it did not you got a free one. Sorry I found this to be totally confusing. When are these airlines going to get their act together and offer a service, or explaination, we all understand and know exactly what we are getting!!!!!!!!! I wont even go into baggage allowance, access baggage, cabin allowance etc.!!!!!! another totally confusing area I am sure you will agree.

My brother has just come back from Zante with XL !  on the way back and before any food was served one of the passengers was taken ill and was quite bad....they had to make an emergency landing at Venice Marco polo where the passenger was taken off the plane, after a 3 hour wait still with no food the captain announced that the crew had run out of hours! and that everyone would have to leave the aircraft.

They were put up in hotels for the night and didnt get food until breakfast that morning, when they returned to Venice airport having got new boarding cards one of the police/guards tried to tell them that the duty free they had purchased in Zante had to be left at Venice!!! luckily another one with some common sense told him how to get around it which then meant a trip back to the check in desk and back throught the scanners.

Once they were back on the same aircraft they were told that there would be no food available because Venice is not one of XL`s stops!!

So just because you have paid for and booked a meal doesnt mean you will get one!!!

No idea what happened to the sick passenger.

I used to work for British Midlands and they will only be chartering the flight I would say if Kosmar say no then you won't be having flight meals.

I think not being able to book meals with XL from Newcastle to Corfu is new this year. No one on the plane got a complementary or booked meal, all hot food had to be purchased. If however you are on a Flyjet flight, booked through XL you will get one!!!!!! So I really dont know anymore who gets fed and who doesn't!!!!!
