"I've tried going on the sunbed a few times"

I've found this toughens the skin in preparation as well  BUT everyone knows the dangers of sunbed use

(now wheres my goggles  )

Hi Ed

I swear by Aloe Vera Gel. If you get the 99% Gel & keep it in the fridge it's very cooling & stops the itch. You can get it from Holland & Barratt in a large tube, but it's available elsewhere.

Hope this helps

DD

Enjoy your holiday! The aloe vera works for me too. Also remember to shower off sun creams after you leave the sun, and the salt from the sea!

Its also a good idea to wash your holiday clothes and towels in a non bio powder (try one made for babies skin) so that you don't react to that when your skin is most sensitive.

I was told last week the best cure for prickly heat from someone living on corfu, was to buy some greek yogurt, put it in the fridge until it goes a firm texture then spread it on,leave for half an hour then wash it off...works very well....if you don't mind a mess....lol

Drink plenty of water as apparently what causes prickly heat is that your blood gets too hot and starts to bubble up, and spend short periods in the sun when its not at its hottest, rather than to get tanned quickly and suffer with it. that way you won't spoil your holiday spending all your time itching and scratching.

Hi, my son has been suffering from a similar problem.  I seam to have found a product that is helping him.  Rona Ross Prickly heat lotion and the gel wash which I found while on holiday in Greece and the chemist recommended them to me.  Now we are back in the uk, we can get them from a company called Makeup UK Ltd, available on the net (at) makeup-uk.co.uk. All I can say is try them they might work. We are over the moon with them. Hope this helps!
