Hi,  Ive never been to Corfu before, and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a horse riding establishment?  Just for general hacking in either countryside or along the beach?

My daughter (age 22 yrs) went riding with a school near avlaki......Dimitris I think. Same name as the restaurant on the main road above Kalami with spectacular views over Kalami accross the channel to Albania - I think the folk from the restaurant also own the riding school.

Anyway my daughter wanted to go at the last minute and at the restaurant they organised the ride for her the next day even though she was the only rider (other than her guide). Very helpful. She enjoyed the ride (about an hour) through forest paths and round a lake to a nearby deserted beach (shingle I think she said).

Depends on where you're staying of course, but if you're in the north east, can only say my daughter was very pleased with the ride. Can't exactly remember the cost but I'm sure it was reasonable - about 20 euros perhaps...

Hi Georgina, I have been learning to ride for two years now here in England so that I can ride on Corfu .

You will find the website below .

The school is owned by Sally and Mark, the horses are well looked after and the safety of riders is very important. I am a bit of a nervous rider and they cater for me very well.
I usually ride once or twice a week, hacking out in the countryside. Sally also lets me go down and help out with the horses if I want to.

Her phone number is on the website, I usually phone her when I arrive as she is busy in summer. The cost is about 30 euros for 2hrs. The stables are based in Ano Korakiana. I normally take my own gear, taking my hat as hand luggage so not to be damaged, but they do have a good stock of clothes boots, chaps, jodphurs etc.

Have fun
