We were planning on taking the seaplane to Paxos in a couple of weeks but unfortunately our plans have had to change and we're now booked on the hydrofoil.

This leaves us with a small dilemma on our return. We are being met by a hire car and then travelling onwards to Ag Stefanos (NE).

As we are are four adults, a child and lots of luggage, this was always going to involve two trips. However this wasn't a problem when we thought we were arriving by plane to Gouvia at lunchtime. The plan was for the in-laws to have a pleasant lunch next to the marina and wait for Richard to return and pick them up.

Now however it looks like we'll be arriving back at Corfu mid-morning. We suspect the Flying Dolphin arrives at the main ferry port, which doesn't look too attractive. It's certainly too far for them to stroll into Corfu Town and back in the time they'll have to spare.

Does anyone know where the FD arrives and if there is anything to keep two senior(ish) folks occupied for around two hours. If not we'll probably have to splash out on a taxi transfer too.

Hi CorinneC

You're right - as far as I recall, the immediate port area is not especially attractive.  But Corfu Town is pretty small and the port is fairly close to the centre: Richard might drive them into the town - the Liston is only a few minutes away, has good bars / restaurants, plenty of life and lots of shops closeby ... or, if he does not want to brave the system there, I recall there are one or two bars / restaurants on the coastal bit of road going towards the centre.

Yammas, David
