Of course you can wear trousers Carin, on a Sunday in church most Greek women wear trousers these days!!

There was a case I remember a few years ago about a particularly old fashioned priest who was really set in his ways, and he was not allowing 'trousered' ladies into his church.  I can't remember where it was exactly, somewhere on the mainland maybe - not in Corfu.   Anyway this story made the national news in Greece - there was a real uproar about it!!

Corfu priests are nice - there aren't, to my knowledge any like him!!

Hello, Carin,

Pants, not shorts, have been fine in my experience. I did hear of a woman in pants who was turned away from a monastery (not in Corfu). She was admitted after she wrapped her jacket around her lower body (with her pants still on, of course!)

Sorry UK friends, I guess we should be speaking of trousers not pants...
