This may be a long shot but I seem to remember a few years ago on this site, someone was praising a service in Corfu whereby there was a service/small business that hired / delivered mosquito tents/ nets, they looked a good idea and fitted over the bed by a support frame, can anyone tell me (as i've had no luck searching the web and forum pages) if this service is still available? and if so do they still have the web address or contact details? I seem to remember they were based in the NE of the Island, but not 100% sure on that.

i recall them being called night angel or knight angel, there was a man selling them on street in acharavi 3 years ago but wasnt there this year,

If you can not find them, have you used the electric bug plugs, we find they work well if you plug them in for a few hours before bed and leaqve them in until you wake.

Hi there Maddy,

I'm sure that I've seen an ad in the Olive Press magazine for a company hiring out nets but I can't remember the name properly either. The have an online version now so you might be able to find something there.

Also you could try a 'google' type general search and see what you come up with.

I have found the post, it had expired as it was posted in 2004 by Kev. The website mentioned is www.knightangelnets.com but it seems to have disappeared.

Maybe he isn't in business anymore?

I wouldn't have thought it was worth hiring them because you can buy them in the UK in any decent camping shop for about �15.00 and then use them time and time again.

The best thing about them is that they are so small when packed up, but the problem that I can forsee is where to hang them from!!

Also, I have seen them fairly regulalrly in our local charity shops for a fiver, so worth having a look in there as well.

If you're prone to bites you'll get bitten. If not in your room, then when you're out for an evening.

The problem with mosquito nets (apart from where to hang them from), is that a mosquito can easily get trapped inside - & then when it's mad, it'll really go for you worse than usual.

Just use a plug-in (liquid is best), and ventilate your room. Keep the shutters closed for security, but the windows open with the curtain drawn across inside.

i've found the best way to keep mosquitoes at bay, when asleep in the bedroom, is the use of a room fan as they hate air movement. A Greek Islands rep told me this trick a few years ago and i've found it to be really successful

Thanks Rob and Julia, but like you say... looks like he's gone out of business or maybe has changed the name? the reason I was interested in the metal framed type rather than the normal nets is for the very reason that you mentioned Peter... where to hang them from? We do use the plug in type or repellant also the coils etc, but I just hate them buzzing round my ears when i'm trying to sleep, I even got bitten on the face a couple of times on out last visit despite covering myself every 8 hours in a very good repellant with extra deet... seems I must have yummie blood LOL.

Just off to PM Kev at Planet Olivewood, thanks for the tips everyone.
