Hi, could anyone tell me if there's anyway of prebooking a taxi transfer? I'll be wanting to go to Paleokastritsa early in the morning and would rather have a taxi booked than to take a chance. I've been quoted £87 return online with 'Resorthoppa' which seems very expensive after being told it would be about 30 euros oneway.

Hello Invictadel

Welcome to the site.

Do you mean you want a taxi from the airport or from another resort?

Hello again

Tor is correct, there are usually plenty of taxis at the airport to meet incoming flights.  However, I can appreciate that if you are arriving early morning you would prefer the security of having something booked.

If you have booked accommodation and have done so direct or through an independent (as opposed to package tour operator) agency they are usually happy to arrange taxis for their guests.  Alternatively you could book a taxi through a local tourist office in Paleo.  If you post a similar query in the Paleo forum someone will provide contact details for one, I stay elsewhere on the island so I can't help with that.

I hope you get something sorted.

Car hire used to be quite expensive in Corfu and Greece as a whole - but recently we have been hiring the likes of a Punto or Corsa with A/C for around £165 per week - ( pretty reasonable )  just shop around on the internet or haggle a deal when you arrive - it usually pays to book a small car with A/C - and take the "free" - up-grade if they havent got the group you paid for.

Sue and Chris -  you are a fair way from me - but a very beautiful part of Lancashire - the Guy we bought our house from moved to a cottage in Rimmington - near you -  now that IS my idea of rural heaven - and just on your doorstep

I think it is a good idea to book a taxi in advance if you arrive in the early hours of the morning.  As suggested, contact the hotel ? accomodation where you are staying.  They are bound to be able to arrange a taxi for you.  I would also phone to check the taxi is booked before your flight just as a reminder.
