Ever since we've been going to Sidari we've hit the football matches. Although I have no interest whatsoever its quite amusing to listen beside the pool with the ooohs and aahs of most of the male population glued to the screen. I will however be watching England if they get through, just to be patriotic, although I dont know why as most of them are foreign players . It is also the only time I see the Mackems and the Magpies sitting together (that is Sunderland and Newcastle respectively). No rivalry there when there's a big match on. I also think its great for the kids to have some entertainment, gives the Mums and Dads a rest.

LOL

I think you are getting mixed up between the International team and league teams when you say most of the players are foreign Caroline.

Yes you can be foreign as long as you have an english parent or grandparent, but certainly most of the English squad are English

The Replublic of Ireland team used that ruling to great effect.

Just out of interest, have they moved County Durham to the other side of the country.  I say that because i was at Lake Ullswater at the weekend and I think 99% of the people there were from Durham

hi all

when i first read angelas post i was very interested myself to see what movies are being shown not because we are sad people who do not appreciate the beauty of corfu but we are taking an 18 year old and a 16 year old who we know will not want to be with their younger brothers and sisters parents aunts etc and we will not want moaning teenages around us so if they want to go off and watch movies to make them happy  that leaves us happy enjoying the lovely weather and the children enjoying the water and so makes for a happy successful holiday for all and to be honest it is because we knew sidari shows movies that contributed to us chosing to go back there this year so if anyone knows what is showing this year it would be much appreciated .

Don't think sitting down for an hour or two to watch a movie makes anybody "sad" hermes. To each their own.

As for the films being shown you are sure to find all the latest films that are on release in the UK and some that have not even found their way over here yet but have been released in America.

Certainly that was evident from what we read last year as we passed some of the bars that were showing films.

I was intersted when I read Angela's post because having 2 children they like to get out of the sun for a couple of hours and by watching the films it is an ideal way to do that. So angela I agree with you I don't think its sad at all.

Hi All,

I am going to Sidari in August and my 12 year old son is not to keen on sitting by the pool all day long so he would be interested in what films are showing.I think everyone is entitled to do what they want on holiday, as long as everyone is happy it doesn't matter what you do.

Hi,

From my past experience the films are shown on a night time!! and having children of my own, i have found its a great way for them to start to relax and unwind after a crazy day of swimming, going on trips etc, whats the harm in that?? they cannot exactly go for a swim at 8.00pm can they? We are a very active family whilst on holiday and we dont sit in pubs and drink etc, but theres something settling about watching the kids having a nice meal and enjoying a good film and a giggle before bedtime!

Hi Angela,

Just back from Kavos on Monday 10 June.

Number of fims were being shown in most of the bars including Shrek 2, and the new Harry Potter movie, all who were there with kids found in a excellant way to keeep them amused at night when it is dark.

Have a good holiday.

Hey guys - CHILL OUT

I personally couldn't care less what any of you do on your holidays so long as you don't interfere with me or mine and you're doing what you want to do. I just hope you all have a great holiday whatever it is.
