We went to Kalami late May this year and it was boiling! Sea was lovely for swimming. Got a little chilly at night though but you could still sit outside and eat. Everything in Kalami was open, in fact it was quite busy!

There are some good places to visit when you are coming to Corfu. Kalami is one of them but there are some more which they have also natural beauty such as kerasia, sidari, armuros, aharavi as far as the north part of corfu is concerned, for the south part which is also marvellous is halicouna, arkoudila, isos and lots of other places. Usually from May until beggining of October the weather is hot and is better to visit the beaches of Corfu. If you would like to visit Corfu at winter time which the weather is cold, i would suggest to visit the museums such as the palace museum in MonRepo which is near Corfu town, the Palace museum which is by the square of the Corfu and the Asian museum which is by the tennis court etc.At winter time there are plenty of restaurants that we called tavernas where you can have traditional food and fabullous view. You could go for a walk to the square, admire the sightseeings and have a coffee to the best coffeeplaces in Corfu.

We stayed in Kaminaki in June last year, and apart from one day of rain the weather was really hot - the sea is a bit colder than later on in summer (and more so in May) but fine once you get in, and refreshing after sunbathing, I would have thought that tavernas and the shop would be open. Debbi who works in the shop often visits this site so maybe she can let you know more details.

It is a beutiful quiet spot, but everything for daily needs in the village, and easy to visit other places up and down the coast, even without a car there are lots of pretty footpaths and also boat trips locally and to Corfu town. The Agni boat collects from Kerasia bay (5 mins away) for evening trip to Agni Taverna, and also does a day trip to Corfu town.

I'm coming to Kaminaki in early May and will certainly be wanting a dip in the sea, i'm hoping it won't be too cold!

Lovely place - we only vivted for a short while but were very impressed - Once you get over the shock of the Hill !!

I am sure that the main two or three taverna's will be open for May - the Taverna "The Rocks" particularly impressed us with fab views - friendly and excellent service - fresh linen laid tables and great food - and a most charming owner !!!

Sara - Your avatar is a well know cove - which is it please ?

Simon,

Don't you recognise Nissaki? Must admit it is looking particularly pretty and quiet in the photo, but it is where we have had our best family holidays, and only now are we branching out to far flung places like Kaminaki, Agni and even Paxos!!

I had a pretty good idea that it was Nissaki - but we couldn't spot it from our hired boat this year  -  reason for the question was that there is the Nissaki Beach Hotel and the actual area of Nissaki itself - so if you have never actually been - then its hard - particularly as the pic shows it to be so quiet.

Inspired by sara's photo - we did spend quite a bit of time chugging up and down looking for that spot - but didn't find it !

PS Sara - If you want me to I can remove that blue cast off your pic - ( it looks a lot better without it !! )  just PM me.

Cheers.

SIMON
