Hi, Has anyone had any problems with hand luggage being a couple of cm too wide, we know the regs are 35 x 45 x 16 but our bag is 35 x 23 x 18, we could put in main suitcase but roy is a bit protective of his Bose speaker, Don't even ask why we are taking it with us (sad)!! Sorry forgot to say will be travelling in next 3 days

Bit confusing about all these new sizes, would rather not take any hand luggage, except for handbag, anyway. Still got to watch for weight in suitcase though!!

Hi Elise, the last information that I have is that they are currently very strict at security. I think the limit is 17" x 13" and that they strictly adhere to this. However last week they indicated that there would be some relaxation of these rules this week,but I have not heard that this has yet happened. We travel next week so I too am concerned about what we can or cannot carry with us. Yammas Polly

Think might take as hand luggage but leave enough room in suitcase for it to fit if they won't allow it. Better safe than sorry

AS a person in the trade.... please ask ROY to put the speaker in the hold baggage. it will be so much easier. dont think he will get it thro SECURITY

Dear Elise and Roy

We travelled back from Corfu last Friday. At check in our hand luggage were not even looked at and our cases were overweight. There was no problem. Two weeks earlier at Gatwick, our cases had also been overweight, again no problem, bags not even looked at! I guess if you were trying to take something outrageously big or of an awkward size then you may be questioned, but I seriously don't think that an extra 2 cm will be an issue. We were lucky not to be asked for payment for overweight luggage, I know that, but I think they have more serious problems to think of at the moment.

travelling back isnt the problem.the problem is travelling out from uk. GATWICK obviously wernt doing there job properly..
