I've bought some electronic mosquito repellers from ebay - 3 (replace with an 'at') £1.99, one for each bedroom.  Will let you know if they work!  Of course I've been force-feeding the family on Marmite and we've also bought industrial quantities of Avon Skin-so-Soft on the recommendations of CTG members... and we have a zapper and bite cream in the unlikely event that the little blighters dare attack us after all that!

im going on holiday in 3 days and ive brought marks and spencers mozzie repellent extra strength. its been recommended to me by a lot of people. so hopefully it will work for me. it has 50% deet, it is in a green tin and make sure you get the extra strength one if you do buy it and it is on offer at marks.

hope that helped you all.

I managed to acquire only a couple of bites from the Corfu mozzies in June but since coming home to our "tropical" summer have been bitten half to death, despite putting repellent on when outside and a having a daily diet of garlic capsules and antihistamines.  Am now on antibiotics and think I'll be better off facing the Sidari mozzies than our local bugs!

Strange isn't it Gill, been enjoying the tropical heatwave here and never even thought about bug repellant, no bites at all, yet if I don't use it abroad, like you, I'm eaten alive. Hope yours heal soon.....

Not so lucky here. I have 6 bites at the moment all driving me mad. I keep forgetting to use any repellent over here though so have to munch on piriton tablets to take the itch away.

They do make me sleep though

How do other ladies get round the fact that these Mossi lotions/sprays either remove nail varnish or makes it go sticky?

Hi,

I found that "Boots" own make Extra Strength repellant containing DEET done the trick for my family, we never got bitten once, but were surrounded by poor friends and other holiday makers eaten alive!
