Can anyone tell me what to do. Last year I was advised to take Vitiam B to help with the mossies,  but i can not remember how I took them.  Do I take them 2 weeks before I go, or is it, whilst I am there. I know I am a bit late at asking this, as I go on the 15th,  but I only remembered about them this morning. So i took 1  , would be greatful if you can help me.

Thanks Anne

Hi Anne,

I think it's Brewer's Yeast you want, which contains vitamin B - you need to start taking it a week or so before you go and then for the duration of your holiday.

Hope it works for you, have a great time

Thanks for relaying that advice Clare. I had no idea that yeast tablets would help against the mozzies, but will now try to remember to take them a week or so before I go to Kalami on 2nd June and whilst I am there. Cheers Polly

Instead of Brewers Yeast tablets could you not take the vitamin b complex?

Didn't realise Brewer's Yeast helps as well.  I have always taken Vitamin B and never have mozzie bites.  Mich takes them now and gets less mozzie bites than she used to so I know it works well.  I take mine all year round as they help prevent mouth ulcers, cold sores etc.  But I don't think it would matter if you only started taking them now - which I would recommend, as well as Brewer's Yeast.

We will be in Kalami on 9th June and can't wait.  Maybe see you there!

Hi Anne,

B1 one week before you go, one in the morning and one at tea-time.  You can take three and be perfectly ok.  You should take them all during your holiday as well.  There have been some previous posts on this subject, just look it up on the find bit.

Regards, Pegasus.

Hi Scottydog,

It is the stench of the Thiamin (B1) that they don't like and you would only be getting a small amount of it in a multivitamin complex.  The other thing is do you need all the other vitamins as well?  Most people don't, because they get enough on a regular basis.

Regards, Pegasus.

Hi Ang,

Phone your Doctors up just to be sure, you don't want anything that could cause issues.  They will be happy to help.  The Pharmacy are pretty good, but double check first.

Regards, Pegasus.
