I should imagine so Pete, but you are on the wrong site for an unbiased view though. we all LOVE it on Corfu!!!

Where will you be staying? You will find that we all have our favourite resorts on Corfu and you will be able to get a truthful opinion from plenty of members who have stayed there.

Welcome to the site by the way. I hope it helps you get the most of your first visit to Corfu, hopefully you will get "the Corfu bug" like everyone else here!

Dean

Hi Dean

Im Emma Pete C's other half can't wait to go it looks lovely from what i have seen. We will be staying in the Corfu Divani Palace Hotel at the Kanoni Peninsula. If you or anyone else could provide us with any information on the hotel or the area it would be much appreciated. Also I notice from the information on this site that you can hire boats for the day if anyone knows where you can hire them in this area i would appreciate the info. Also Paxo's and Antipaxo look beautiful does anyone recomend it for a day out.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Emma

Hi Emma and a warm welcome to the site to you too!

I'm afraid I can't help much as i'm not familiar with the area you are staying, or your hotel, I can say though that it is a beautiful area to stay and close to Corfu town, Mouse island and the birthplace of Prince Phillip but i'm sure you know that already!

I haven't done the Paxos/ Antipaxos trip yet either, but plan to do it this summer, as I have heard many times that it is well worth it.

I did a quick search and found some good reviews on your hotel, just click below

trip advisor reviews

I am sure other members will get back to you on your boat hire query, and also im sure they will be able to give you more details about the area.

Hope you have a great time, it would be great to hear your thoughts when you return, and it may help others in the future.

Dean

Hi Petec

How does Corfu compare to Cyprus ? well its not as  hot and does not have the infrastructure  Cyprus enjoys but is far less spoilt and far greener and has  managed to keep its identidy which Cyprus seems to be strugglying with.

We holidayed here twice before coming back to puchase a 2nd home in Corfu And I'm originally Cypriot so that should give you some idea of how  seduvtive the island is.

regards

Dave A

Hi Emmalou and Pete, welcome to the CTG

I visited Paxos last year and can recommend the trip - it's a beautiful island and a lovely day out. It will be even better for you as you're staying near Corfu Town, shortening the travelling time to the port

Here are the photos in the Paxos Gallery for you to have a look at.

Hi Emma and Pete, youv'e picked a good area for traveling around. You can get to Paxos from Corfu Town on the Dolphin. It's the quickest way of getting there. It will take you to the capital called Gaios. It has a pretty harbour and plenty of Tavernas. From there you could head down to Anti Paxos for a couple of hours to relax on the white sandy beach and swim in the clear turquoise sea.Magic! From Corfu Town you could also take a day trip to Parga on the greek mainland,it's a very beautiful harbour with a castle on the hill and a huge sandy beach on the other side.Have a great time.Stevie.

Since visiting Corfu five years ago, I have never ever ventured elsewhere.

Why should I when I have found somehwere I feel totally at home, where the people are charming and friendly and I have seen some of the most stunning views ever.

As soon as the plane banks over the island and I can see the sea, green forests and twinkling sun, I could cry, its like coming home.

I hope you love it as much as I do.
