Hi!
We read some commetns about corfu's weather...
And person said it was rainy + one said there was very strong thunder storm for 4 days even in the July.
But we aren't sure if those people were "honest" about the rain-situtation...

So anyone? Some more info about the rains + thunder storms in late June -> mid July? Should we be worried about the rain (we are looking for more beach holiday...relaxing + swimming).

Hi Jone.

I have holidayed in June, July and August, and have yet to have seen any rain. Nothing but blue skies, hot sun, high tempretures. Thats not to say there could not be rain, but not in the way you may have been discribed. Thunderstorms are a different thing, and can occur, specially after a hot spell. Here is a link back to the weather forecast for June last year, you can also move along to July also.

Yammas, Chris.

Hi Jone,

As Sailor says there normally is'nt any rain in July, but you never know....The thunder storms are possible but there great.

I've been gonig regular now for 9 years and never had rain in July so I would say the oods are good. Theres a page on here also that has up to date weather reports for people who live on the island.

Been great fun reading that and knowing what its doing over there.

Best wishes

Debz

Hi Jone,

As Sailor and Debz have said, I think rain is probably unlikely in June/July. I've experienced quite a lot of it myself, but more usually in May, September and October. When it rains then, it can rain a lot but if there are any storms in the middle of summer (June-August) they don't usually last very long. You'll get plenty of swimming and sunbathing done, don't worry

Hiya Jone, I have to agree with all the comments above, Corfu does get a lot of rain but its very rare in June+July. I have lived in Corfu for 3 years and have known it to rain a little but not to the extent that some people are trying to lead you to believe. The odd time that it has rained everyone seems to dance around like fools making the most of the chance to cool down................for about 5 minutes before they slap on the factor 30 again! Try not to worry too much-you will have a great time!

in all the years we've beenin june,I've only known it rain twice, thunderstorms both times, real storms, not like the useless efforts we have at home! They built up over a couple of hours, then it came, what a sight, almost continuous  lightening, spectacular, then it dissappeared as it came, and the sun was back, probably only gone for about 3 hours, well worth seeing, bobbo

Hi

The rainy season is from October/November to March/April.  Having said that although it may rain for a couple of hours the sun will then come shining through and everywhere is fresh and sweet smelling. the island is very green, hence the rain.  But a more beautiful island i doubt that you could find.

We had rain last July in Ag. Gordios for a couple of hours. Nice warm rain not like here.

And don't forget, a couple of hours of rain means you get to sit in the taverna for longer and eat more Greek food
