Hello, while I have been to various parts of Greece before, I am considering spending a week in june 06 in self catering, but have had some reports that Sidari is the new Faleraki, is this true?

Whilst it is true that Sidari does now attract club 18-30 types, it didn't appear to be too mad when we drove through there last year, but maybe we caught it on a quiet night or too early in the evening.

But if Sidari has gone too far in this direction, there are plenty of quieter resorts close by where you could base yourself, whilst being able to visit Sidari should you want to.

Acharavi & Roda for example are only a short distance but far more relaxed.

having spent the summer there this season i have to totally disagree. Its nothing like a club 18-30 thing, yeah there are a fair few young ones out there having a good time. But where are you going to go where that deson't happen.

It was a relativly quiet season there was some serous trouble and my thoughts are with her family. its nothing like faliraki. Could it be that younger lads and lasses might share there experiences than others...or that your reading to much into it. Seriously if its club 18-30 go to kavos. Sidari is suitable for all ages and most hotel are situated away from the main strip so you get vertually no noice.

If you read other posts you wil see large families going out. large groups of teenagers. large groups of older people etc. Not just groups of males.

couldn't really find the exact words i was looking for. but think about it, you make YOUR holiday not the people who happen to be there at the same time.

I agree with Claire.  Having stayed in Sidari and the surrounding area 7 or 8 times in the last three years I have never witnessed any of the behaviour which is prevalent in the UK towns and cities.  We do prefer Acharavi because as Acharavi.com says, it is more laid back and perhaps less orientated to the family market but Sidari is fine.

We were in sidari last year and although it was busy at night there wasnt much drunking people littering the streets just people having a good time and getting on with each other.

the only time you'll see drunk people wondering about could be between 4-7 when the bars shut and when the clubs shut. the police patrol reguarly to check for drunken people etc.
