Hi gusy I had to share this with you.

I tried the German route I tried the Athens route by plane (via the web of course) and then reverted to ferries:

Ryan Air Stanstead - Brindisi £25.00 inc tax Return

Tuesday, Saturday, Thur Out and Tue Thur Sat In

Ferry Brindisi to Corfu - 20E plus 6£  Return (its 24 one way plus the 6??)

Monday  22.00 Friday11.30  Saturday11.30 Out

Tuesday, Thursday Saturday 21.35

I have worked out I can leave on Thursday 19th Jan at 1720 get the Friday 11.30 am Ferry

Leave Wednesday 00.45 ferry catch the 21.35 flight on Friday

There is no need for an overnight stay

IT COSTS UNDER £50. And the ferries run until the 31/03/06 at these times.  If you are going you can move the dates just stay with the days.  Seems to good to be true.  Hope this helps.

Talie

Hi

That seems a very good deal - have you actually booked which ferry etc. or do you just turn up and take a chance. We are going 21st Jan for a week via air france from newcastle to athens and then aegean to Corfu - much more expensive but a lot dearer. Would love to try the ferries but a bit nervous of the unknown.

Regards Sylvia

Hi Nell, take a look at the links below. Choose your dates, times, both outbound and inbound, and see the prices. Some good deals.

http://www.airberlin.com/site/index.php?LANG=eng

http://www.ltu.de/takeltu/index.html?SiteID=0&LangID=2

Hope this helps in someway.

Yammas, Chris

How long does it take to get to Corfu from Brindisi.  We got diverted to there in September for refuelling (took 30 mins by plane) 1 hr on the tarmac then back to Corfu, Nightmare flight! Corfu wouldnt let us land so we were circling for ages and ran out of fuel. Hope the crossing  on the ferry at this time of year is not rough though.  Hadnt thought of a boat to lessen the costs. How long would the whole travel time take doing it that way?
