Sounds a bit sad in the thread topic I know. But I was really hoping to go to Corfu over half term but it looks like I won't be now with my other half

Anyone ever been over there on their own?

Hi Hutchy,

Sorry, you do not state whether you are male or female.

It is not uncommon for both to go  to Corfu on their own, because as they have all said, as do most, you will always meet up with others either on their own or in groups or families. That is the fun thing about Corfu, both locals and holidaymakers being so friendly. It is all part of being on Corfu.

As for females, those who have travelled alone to Corfu find it very very safe to do so, and consider going back again.

Hope this helps until someone who has comes on site.

Yammas, Chris.

Hutchy,

I've been to Corfu a few times on my own and know a few other people who have done the same. We've always had a great time - in fact in some respects it's better than travelling with someone because you get to meet so many new friends.

Carry on with your holiday and enjoy,

Sam

Hi

I've been loads of times on my own, occaisionally with my son, I've always felt really safe, far more than in my home town. You'd never catch me going into bars on my own at home but I do it in Messonghi all the time. The Greeks are so welcoming that you don't really feel alone and with my ex-pat friends there as well I have a whale of a time. Don't worry about it and enjoy yourself

Sue

Hi
My wife Lynnhas just enjoyed a week in Corfu on her own - in fact she flies home tonight. Admitedly, she has being staying with friends, but she has been on her own for large parts of the day. Thouroughly enjoyed it, never felt threatend and everyone, as usual, has gone out of their way to make her feel welcome.

Go and enjoy it!

Martyn

I went for 3 weeks in September on my own to Roda. I had no problems finding people to chat to, everyone was very welcoming. I would say go for it and have a great time!

I have previously said that i have been loads of times on my own and have had the best holidays. I go to San Stefanos NW and i now find that everybody knows me and they sort of look out for me now. I met loads of different people that do this now and also say the same. We dont need holiday companys to give single rooms this can easily be arranged and now at last boots are doing suncream that sprays in anyway form !!.I say go for it as i cant wait to go again on my own.

Cheers all. Didn't expect that response! Am male for the first person who aksed me. The rest of you say good things about going away on your own. Think I'd get a lot of mockery cos am only young but it's something I've never done and I reckon it'd be good
