My wife & I are coming to Sidari for the first time at the end of August & we would be very grateful to know about the availability of buses & any other public transport in the area in order to plan diy trips out rather than being at the mercy of the tour operator.Neither of us has been to any part of Greece before. We would like to thank any contributors to this subject in advance.

Public transport is sporadic, to say the least. If you want to book trips I would reccomennd any of the small private companies, rather than through the rep! They are at least half the price and are generally well organised. Having said that, just getting on the local bus and going wherever it takes you can be great fun!! We have been going to Sidari for the last 17 yrs - twice a year sometimes! If you have never been before, I would recommend the monestary a Paleocastritsa and the Achilleon Palace as well as Corfu old town. The scenery is breathtaking! We are now in our late fifties and every time we go back we find something new. The best thing of all is the kindness, friendliness and hospitality of the people. When are you going and where are you staying? we will be there 12/9/05 for two weeks staying at Othonas Apartments.

Hi daveWA12,

If you are still interested in public transport, then you'll find the bus timetables here http://www.allcorfu.com/ou-buses.html
