having been regular visitors to Turkey over the past few years we have been used to being 'hassled' by waiters who are touting for trade in restaurants.Does this happen in Corfu?

Hi there Nikki,

To be honest, there is the odd resort where this can happen, but it's not waiters that are doing the "heckling". Some bars and tavernas have started hiring what they call PRs.

It really does depend on what resort you're going to.

I personally haven't come across any PRs in the resorts I've been to in Corfu, but I know that others have done.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful X

Hi Nikki

If you can put up with the hassle in Turkey you can put up with anything.

I have not experienced this in Corfu at all but having said that I have only been to Glyfada which is quite a quiet resort (in my opinion) and we were all inclusive so didn't venture out very much.

We did hire a car and had day visits to places like Kassiope, Sidari, Corfu Town etc during the day and we were not hassled at all.

If you were to get hassled, I don't think it would be too bad, nothing like Turkey, trust me, it stopped me ever going back there although I did enjoy the holiday.

Good point Wee Minx,

In Corfu you'll certainly not experience anything comparable to the scale as you did in Turkey.

I do also love Turkey, but we now visit quiet areas where you never get hassle.

I only went to Turkey once and never again.  The hassle my wife and daughter got just ruined our time there.

I have never experienced anything like it in Corfu, I'm glad to say.

Supe.

In Agios Gordis nobody is hasseling you. Compared to what we experienced in Zakynthos, the atmosphere is quite laid back. But must say that I cant speak for the other resorts.

come to think of it, it happens a little bit in Corfu town, but when you said: "No" they stop hasseling.

I have been going to Corfu for 20 odd years and have never been hassled - unlike Rythmnon in Crete which was very bad.
Nothing worse when walking along the beach front at night than having to make excuses as why you don't want to eat at their place.

The PR's in Sidari don't really hassle you, a polite 'no thankyou' does the job.

We went to Rhodes last year, and some places in the town had waiters outside really hassling you to go in.

We never went in those places, and chose the ones that WE wanted, without the hassle.
