Does anyone have some advice on the best? route from Roda to Corfu Town. I intend hiring a car for a few days next week, and have a family who always seem to close their eyes when I drive abroad, especially on roads at altitude. What would you recommend as the most suitable route to the town from the north of the island. Is the centre of the island a bit scary for a first-timer?

Hi we stayed at the north side. It takes approx 1 hour to travel to Corfu town. The road is windy but we did the same route for 12 days( went to a dive school every day) so we found it no problem. We hired a jeep found it better than the other cars on offer. If I can offer any other help no problem

We hired a car for 3 days and to get from Roda to Corfu Town takes around one hour, yes the roads are winding and require a little caution but there OK.

The route to Corfu town is signposted from Roda, the best advice would be to buy a map when you arrive and use that as reference.

We hired a car for the simple reason that you can turn the air-con on and have it nice and cool inside the car, the jeeps are OK but you must wear a hat and cover up well as they are open top, don't want a dose of sun stroke or bad sun burn

Hi ya ...There are two routes you can take from Roda...From roda take the main road out until come to the main road and on the opposesit side of the main road you will see a sign post for (kavalouri) but keep on the main road and follow down to a village called (horepiskopi) Carey on for another 1.5 miles until you have to bair of left to (troumbetas)this road will take all the way down to (gouvia) and into Corfu town...the other way is turn left and onto the coastal road which is far more longer but very scenic....chris
