I land in Corfu Monday 25th and this taxi strike has got me worried!
Have any of you taken the bus from Corfu Town to Sidari? Is it relatively straightforward?
Alfa Taxis will accept a booking but cannot confirm until Monday? If I get to the airport and no taxis do you think I will be able to get on a tour operators bus? Is it worth asking?
Don't think I'll be booking independently again...I'm getting stressed!
Any help would be appreciated, tips and suggestions please

Well it's certainly worth asking, especially if you have flown out with the company. Ive done it before, on the return journey to the airport, after booking a flight with the company.
Dont let it worry you too much sure you will resolve whatever is required when you arrive. Then of course theres the possibility the taxis will not strike.
There all ponderables, over which we have no control.
Do you drive? You may consider car hire?
Whatever happens I wish you God Speed.

Not sure about the taxi bit but I know for sure you wont be allowed on a tour operators bus due to the insurance - you will not be covered. I have heard though that taxis are still operating for the tourists but dont know how true this is. Dont get stressed though as I am certain you will not be left stranded altogether. You can get a bus into Corfu town from the end of the airport road then just ask someone which bus to get to Sidari.

Have you considered hiring a car? If not maybe contact Value Plus car hire as they are based in Sidari but are always at the airport to meet people for car hire and they might be willing to give you a lift up to Sidari? Or maybe someone on here is on the same flight as you and you could give them a bit of cash for a lift? Just a thought, hope you get it sorted.

I do drive but I don't think I'd be confident to drive in Corfu never driven abroad. Thanks for the suggestions maybe Spiros at the apartments will come up with an answer
There will be 4 of us so don't think we'll be getting a lift ha ha!
Looks like the bus to the town and then green bus to Sidari. Oh well it'll all be worth it when I'm sat in Maddisons with my plate of moussaka and a cocktail BRING IT ON!

Thanks all for your help
I've now booked a coach transfer which was fraught in itself. Coach booked with Corfu Airport transfers will let you know how I get on.
Just got to pack now and then we fly tomorrow at 0705 I won't be able to sleep tonight...I'm so excited!
